Quebec - Notaries - Parchemin

Acronym

Parchemin

Title

Database Parchemin.

Director

Normand Robert

Original Publisher

Societe Archiv-Histo.

Language

French (interface) or record language

Content

The summary of all notary records of Quebec from beginnings to 1765 (all places) and 1775 (Montreal district), plus those from Acadia.

Editions

The CD-ROM is sometimes updated.

Review

The summary of records includes the principal persons found in a record, but not everybody. For example, a will has not the list of all inheritors.

The largest difficulties is that the names are not standardised (but regular expression are allowed).

Expensive. But you can purchase from them a listing of all records your want.

Availability

Partial listing: Montreal (SGCF, ANQ, Univ. de Montreal), Quebec (ANQ), town libraries of Cap-de-la-Madeleine, Jonquiere and Longueuil, other libraries in Alma, Drummondville, L'Assomption, St-Hyacinthe.
