9. Publish What You Find

Once a new record is found, it is necessary to make it known. Do not be egoistic by keeping secret such a discovery during 20 or 30 years.

It is in general easy to publish new discoveries in the more important Quebec genealogical publications. If a European gave you a hand, ask him/her for his/her collaboration. Indicate also the context of search, the principal steps, this in order to inform the other researchers about the steps to be done in order to give the idea to others to make discoveries which sometimes will concern your own ancestors.
